SAFETY SMART

Safety SMART carries out testing, servicing and maintenance of fume cupboards. We test and service fume cupboards in accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 2243.8:2006 (ducted fume cupboards) and AS/NZ 2243.9:2003 (ductless fume cupboards). We are accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), which sets stringent guidelines for testing authorities, including methodology, equipment calibration and report validation.

The Australian Standard AS/NZS 2243.8 requires that fume cupboards must have a major service every 12 months, and recommends a minor service every six months. WorkCover inspectors use the Australian Standard in assessing whether a fume cupboard complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004) and associated Regulations.

When Safety SMART tests or services your fume cupboards, we will provide you with a detailed NATA test report for WorkCover and other insurance records. A NATA sticker will also be placed on each fume cupboard, outlining the test date, report number and results for easy verification by all users. If you wish, we can provide you with an upgrade plan for your company or school’s risk assessment program.

We can offer major or minor services to your fume cupboards, which includes a test report, or testing only. An outline of what we do during servicing appears over the page.
